Webinar Series Rationale

Geophysical methods are becoming increasingly important tools for agriculture. Therefore, a series of webinars are being organized that will present various topics related to the use of near-surface geophysical methods in agriculture. Those from both the geophysical and agricultural communities will benefit from these webinars and are therefore encouraged to participate. The overall goal of the presentations and discussions that comprise the webinar series is to promote and advance the application of near-surface geophysics within agricultural settings.

Focus & Format

The focus of the second webinar is on the use of ground penetrating radar (GPR) methods in agriculture, with particular applications such as soil water content measurement, soil surveys and investigations, and forest monitoring. Additional topics will include an overview of GPR field survey set-up and data processing along with a perspective on the future need to transition from qualitative to more quantitative analysis of GPR data.

This webinar is scheduled for:

(2:00 - 3:30 CDT, 1:00 - 2:30 MDT, 12:00 - 1:30 PDT)

For this second webinar, five presenters will provide a short overview of GPR use in agriculture during the first 30 minutes.

The last hour of the webinar will be devoted to a panel discussion with the presenters, who will answer questions from the audience.
